23rd of February:
Today I did my final program activity day which was Cross Country Skiing. Having never done this before I was a bit nervous but very excited about joining in with this group and having a go.
We went to Engsligenalp and got our skis before having a little go before lunch. The shoes are so much more comfy on cross country compared to down hill!!! It was a bit tricky figuring out how they clicked into the skis but everyone figured it out. The skis were very easy to move on the snow but hard to control. We then started to big loop, I had to lead and fell over a few times as I felt the pressure of going fast, the groups I was with were very good and supported and I made a few of the kids laugh. I then lost total control around a steep corner and completely wiped out on the snow. Luckily all I got was some bloody knuckles ut was tough work but the whole group had fun and I enjoyed having a go at something I wouldn't normally get the opportunity to do.
We then headed back to our Chalet where I got to shower and relax just before dinner and then go to an evening training which was Campfire, the online Girl Guide platform. It was interesting but I was incredibly tired. I went straight to bed afterwards and fell asleep very quickly.
