Journey to Camp

I had to get ready and repacked to check out today before heading to camp on the bus picking me up this afternoon.

I went on a walk with another girl coming to camp around Central Park before getting some food and sitting and talking. On our walk back it started to rain so we got a bit wet but luckily missed the big outpour. We then met a lot of people going to camp that were all sat talking. It was great to meet everyone and hear stories of last year's camp from the returners.

I then grabbed my bag and ended up luckily on the first bus at the back where I spoke to the people around me for majority of the trip.

The bus ride was 3.5 hours and was not smooth at all and we ended up getting a bit lost but we made it to camp.

We then were welcomed by all the specialist counsellors that were already there and were greeted by a hug from one of the people in charge.

We then had a bit of a talk about what to expect tonight and then got to eat dinner. It was extremely salty but apparently I have to get used to that especially in America!

We then got sorted into cabins based on upper and lower camp, I'm in lower which means I will work with under 13 year olds, I'm unsure whether with the boys or girls yet. We then got shown the staff lounge where I met more people and played a few games of football. I then headed to bed.

Last night was super cold but can't wait for my first day at camp.
