After a glorious sunrise last night I woke up and had a lovely long chat with my van next door neighbours where I spoke to them about all of their travels. They were a retired couple that have done lots of trips around Australia and they're currently on their way from Queensland to Western Australia and it was really great to hear some van tips from them. I then headed off to Langhorne Creek I heard there was a great free campsite which was around wineries. I saw a little pink lake on the way but as it was summer there wasn't much to see. I was able to arrive at the campsite and enjoy a sneaky little wine tasting at a small winery so I decided to try out some of the white wine and after the tasting decides to have a glass of Stray and buy a bottle of Moscato.
Friday:
Today I did a large trip from Langhorne Creek through Goolwa and Victor Harbor, it was amazing to see the various street, the historical walks and enjoy the town. I then arrived at the Deep Creek National Park where I did a hike down to the blowhole beach which is absolutely stunning and so rounded by big bits of land so it made it feel like it was so private beach that only a few people were there I enjoyed going into the water for the first time on the trip and enjoying how beautiful and clear it was and how refreshing it was after a very hot day. I then was trying to get a lift from a four-wheel drive in order to be able to get back up the hike and back into the park where my car was but I spoke to a couple that were also walking back up the hikes so it was nice to have some company and the hike was much easier back up than I thought it was gonna be, but it still wasn't easy and ruined the nice refreshing feeling you got from the beach. I then spent the night in the National Park woth a good sleep preparing for my day tomorrow.
Today I travelled to Cape Jarvis where I was able to wave to Lucy's cruise ship in Kangaroo Island on the other side of the Bay it was an extremely windy day and there wasn't much to do in Cape Jarvis other than see the beautiful sites. So I carried on to Delamere which had a forest hike which I did which was about seven kilometres and took me around the park, was a beautiful within the trees and there was an Eagle flying over my head which was really cool to see. I then arrived from Bay Beach where there was a caved I was interested in going in however halfway through my walk to the cave the wind picked up and I was getting really painful sand flicked on to my legs so I decided to turn back.
So I then travelled to Second Valley which had a really beautiful beach there were so many jellyfish so I had to chat with a local to make sure it wouldn't sting me. I had a quick dip to cool myself down And then headed to my campsite for the night in Wirrina Cove which was a great campsite that allowed me to have two beautiful hot showers, do my laundry and meet some fellow travellers in their vans.
Sunday, today I set out to the Inglalla falls which is a small little waterfalls on my way to the next part of the peninsula. I then explored the beaches and towns in Carrickalinga and Myponga.
I then arrived in the late evening to Aldinga Beach where I drove onto the beach and watched a big group of people try and get a car that was stuck in the ocean out of the ocean which was quite entertaining I then got off the beach and cooked my dinner before finding a place to sleep.
Monday: Today because it was forecast such hot weather I decided to stay in Aldinga and go to a quieter beach that didn't have cars on it and I spent a total of six hours in the sun doing dips in the ocean and reading my book it was a very nice and relaxing day before I then got the chance to FaceTime my family and find a place to sleep for the night.
Tuesday I got some amazing news that Judith Patrick's sister will be joining me next week to a further adventure in Uluru.
So today I did lots of shopping for that before finally making it to Adelaide!! In the
City I was able to go to the library see the market and go for a walk around the square I then left Adelaide and did a big drive to a campsite for the night, along the way i stopped at the biggest rocking horse in the world.
And today my final day of my second week in South Australia I have taken the drive to Yorke Peninsula exploring this Coast and hopefully trying lots of seafood I have done lots of stops to silos and water tanks with artwork and including Port Victoria.
958kms down this week. 2,334kms done in total! And way more to go...
