Weekend in Kandersteg!!

First day of 2023!!!!

What a way to start the year by running an onsite day for our guests. We played Kubb and capture the flag before trying Schneerenschnitt (Swiss paper cutting), I think I will have to do some more practice!

We were all pretty exhausted from the last few days and late night that the afternoon was pretty chilled.

I finished programme early and made my way with my roomie to KISC Kandersteg International Scout Centre. We had a late dinner and got to enjoy the end of their new years celebration with a campfire. They are celebrating their 100 year birthday this year so it was extra special to be part of.

Amazing first night of 2023. Starting the year strong!

This centre is very big so it was nice to try but I'm ready for my small centre up on the mountain!!!

Today we had a day in Kandersteg at Oeschinensee, a famous lake in Switzerland. We went up the Gondola and the walk to the lake was very icey and dangerous but I managed to stay standing. The lake was absolutely beautiful and we ended up meeting the programme group who was at the lake as well. We decided ro complete one of the staff challenges which was stand in the lake upto our knees for 10 seconds. Can tell you now, I'm never doing that again!!!

We then headed down and got a snack at the Cafe before heading home.

I'm pretty tired now but will rest up tomorrow!!
