Washington DC

Arriving at Washington in the evening we just decided to get settled in the hostel and go to sleep.

We ended up having a super lazy morning on the 30th as we both weren't feeling great and needed some much needed rest. At about 1:30pm we headed out and walked from the hostel to the monument stopping at the art musuem and any other interesting looking buildings. After the monument we made our way to the WW2 memorial where we dipped our toes in the fountain and my shoe dropped in the water....

We then walked to the Abraham Lincoln memorial where I got a bit emotional reading the big boards and seeing his large statue. We then got some pasta for dinner and brownie sundaes and cheesecake.

We then headed back to the hostel for an early night to dicuss our plans between Washington DC and Florida as well as our trip to DisneyWorld!!!!!

Yesterday we had a little lazy morning and managed to leave the hostel by 10am and walked to the White house, Secretary building, Eisenhower Executive Office Building, the United states Captitol and back to the Abraham Lincoln monument for a picnic lunch. We then headed back to the hostel to look at Disneyworld and have a bit of a chill. Then we headed back out in the evening for nandos and to see the monuments lit up at night which was amazing especially with the full moon.

This morning we had a lazy one and decided to pack our bags ready for tomorrow, I was also able to do some laundry! I then did some more research on the Disney parks and our travel tomorrow.

We then went to the Archives of the United States where I read about the first 10 amendments, a document from 1217 and the civil rights and woman's rights movements. Then went for a long walk to the Martin Luther King Jr memorial statue and

Vietnam and Korean war memorial. We then headed back for a chilled afternoon, a nap and to start packing for tomorrow.

We then went to the cheesecake factory for dinner.
